NT Police have warned residents at Moulden Terrace in Palmerston, outside of Darwin, to avoid the area while officers commence an investigation.
While few details about the child have so far been released, it is understood they died at the scene at roughly midday.
A crime scene has been set up while police work to determine the cause of the crash.
